The new 2024 Title IX Regulations take effect Aug. 1, 2024. Mark your calendar for 2024 Title IX Training with Fox Rothschild attorneys Bonnie A. Young and Alexis J. Spurlock. Two virtual training options will be offered on Tuesday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 23.

Our 2024 Title IX Training Program will cover:

This training is for Title IX Coordinators and any key personnel responsible for promptly addressing reports of sex discrimination and harassment. The 2024 Regulations mandate how K-12 schools must respond to allegations of sex discrimination in educational programs and activities that receive federal aid. This training will prepare you to make important decisions under the new regulations and meet the August 1, 2024 deadline.

PASPA Members - $2,500 per school district (unlimited attendees)

Non-PASPA Members $2,750 per school district (unlimited attendees)

Background: In May 2020, the U.S. Department of Education released Title IX Regulations mandating how elementary, secondary and post-secondary institutions must respond to allegations of sex discrimination in educational programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance.

Under these final rules, prompt and supportive measures, including remedies, must be provided to alleged victims, and schools and school districts must follow a specific grievance and resolution process for investigations. Of particular note, live testimony hearings are now a required component of the grievance process and permit the accused and the alleged victim to have an adviser, who may be an attorney, support them and cross-examine the other party.

As a part of the directives issued by the Department, educational institutions are required to:

1. Ensure a prompt and equitable response to Title IX Complaints Where supportive measures are provided to preserve access to The school’s educational program and activities.
2. Make sure all persons responsible for addressing a Title IX complaint Trained.
3. Post on their website the contact information of their Title IX Coordinator, nondiscrimination policy and all training materials used by their Title IX personnel.

The regulations have the full effect of law. At more than 2000 pages in length, the regulations provided a number of comments, analysis and direction that schools were required to follow.
